The story of establishing Exotic Bonsai in Indonesia goes back for more then seventeen years now.
In the beginning Mr. Edo de Groot, owner of well known Edo Bonsai in the Netherlands started to import tropical Bonsai from Indonesia into Europe.
To overcome the difficulties as there where such as advanced payments, unknown varieties, lack of experience in exporting trees, negotiating of prices, unforeseen extra charges and many others, he decided to give a lot of time and efforts in supporting the export of Indonesian Bonsai.
The reason was his believe in the possibilities of these tropical species in a quality and age that could not be found anywhere else in the world. His frequent trips to Japan, Korea, China, Thailand and Taiwan did not show any compared Bonsai as those he saw in Indonesia.
Buying mostly from two areas in Indonesia, Puncak and Batu, he however found himself limited in the possibilities of collecting the Bonsai, that he had a passion for.
After his marriage with the talented Mrs. Rahayu , at this moment also a well known Bonsai specialist, the plan was born to start the best exporting Bonsai Company in Indonesia. The idea of Exotic Bonsai Indonesia was born.
It would give the possibility of collecting and contracting not only Bonsai from Puncak and Batu, but also from all others parts of the Archipelago of Indonesia, such as Bali, Sumatra, Madura and others.
With the support of two French gentlemen, who earned their place also in the Bonsai World, Mr. Sylvain Delannoy and Mr. Frederic Chenal, the building of the company started in 2005.
Exotic Bonsai is built with European standards of housing, loading and packing as well as maintaining Bonsai, so that a unique company exports from the year 2008 to all interested countries.
The Bonsai all placed on tables in an extreme clean environment guarantees the strict import and quarantine regulations. All prices are mentioned on each tree and are FOB prices, so that every importer knows exactly the correct expense and he will not be surprised by any other unwelcome details.
