A rare specimen for Bonsai. Difficult to find, but if established as Miniature tree very easy to keep and let grow. Makes fruits very easy and produces many of these red eyecatching spots. Can let the leaves fall down at any time of the year after changing places, but recovers extremely fast. Loves to be outside in summertime but prefers to have a more moderate place in the winter.
Only M.paniculata, from china, is quite well known and appreciated, thanks to being widely marketed. Remarkably beautiful specimens are to be found in Oriental, European, and American collections. The smelly white flowers and the special shaped red fruits give this Bonsai a special appearance.
This new Bonsai variety looks in its growing habit to the Ficus. But its leaves stay rather small and also the new leaves are not big. It grows slowly and as it can make many side branches it is ideal for a bonsai. The flowers are white, small and are hanging down in a floor stage. It is a tropical Bonsai and can have a lot of warm temperature.
Already widely known Bonsai for Indoor. There are species from China and Indonesia. The Chinese trees have single white flowers once a year. The Indonesian species double flowers several times a year. Further difference is that the cultivated Chinese Serissa produces more often yellow leaves then the harder in nature found Indonesian pieces. Likes apart the normal water also to be sprayed with water, that should be not too cold. Can be found in many different shapes.
